Pregnant woman hurt in domestic assault

TMP Reports

A pregnant woman was choked by her boyfriend during a domestic argument Wednesday afternoon at Meadowlark Drive near Smyrna, a sheriff’s corporal reported.

Victim Tabitha B. Andrews, 30, of La Vergne, who is 18-weeks pregnant, was grabbed by her throat during a fight with her boyfriend, Cpl. Michael Moody reported.

The boyfriend was accused of fighting with witness Michael Pope, 47, of Meadowlark Drive, causing Pope to suffer a deep gash near his left eye, Moody reported.

Charges of domestic assault are pending against the boyfriend who fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Andrews accused her boyfriend of taking her car without her permission Tuesday night. She came to his Meadowlark Drive home to retrieve her car Wednesday but the boyfriend refused to give her the keys, putting her car in reverse and striking another car.

The boyfriend “pushed her against the vehicle door and slapped her numerous times on the face and chest,” Moody reported. “Ms. Andrews stated that he also had his hand over her throat at one point during the assault.”

She suffered a scratch but refused treatment. Pope confronted the boyfriend who punched his face and chest numerous times.

“Pope had a deep laceration next to his left eye and possibly had a broken nose,” Moody reported.

Paramedics took him to StoneCrest Medical Center for treatment.

Deputies extensively searched the area for the boyfriend but could not locate him.

In an unrelated case, victim Nakisha Felice Wilson of Courtland Street suffered multiple injuries when assaulted by her girlfriend, Officer Michael Martin reported.

The girlfriend was accused of scratching Wilson below her left eye, punching her in the right eye and biting her right hand, Martin reported. She was treated at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
