EF-0 tornado touches down in Christiana

An EF-0 tornado caused damage in southeastern Rutherford County Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS reported minor damage to homes and buildings, as well as uprooted trees around 12:15 p.m. Monday along Plainview Road in Christiana. The tornado had a 3.8 mile long and 100 yards wide path.

Other damage reported in the area included roof damage along Sledge Road and utility poles snapped, trees down and roof damage along Manchester Road.

No one was injured.

About an hour later, Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department responded to a possible lightning strike on Craythorne Drive.

Around 1:15 Monday afternoon, crews checked the home, still under construction, for fire and damage. The lightning strike did not ignite the structure; however, the building did receive electrical damage and some structural damage.

No injuries were reported.
