Police quickly recover stolen property

Police recovered stolen property taken in a burglary in Murfreesboro shortly after it was stolen, officers reported.

Witnesses told officers someone in a grey Ford truck stole property from Ronald Maxwell of Hamilton Drive, Officer Matthew Harvey reported.

Harvey stopped the suspect vehicle on Manson Pike where Maxwell identified his stolen television and Beretta handgun valued at $1,400.

Suspect Calvin Conley was charged with aggravated burglary and theft.

Other burglary victims were not as lucky.

Burglars stole about $4,000 worth of guns and electronics from Kyle Martin of Tedder Boulevard, Officer Michele Ratleph reported.

Missing items included a laptop computer, Play Station 3, a $1,000 Ruger bolt-action rifle, a $1,000 Winchester rifle, a muzzleloader and a .22 Magnum rifle.

In an unrelated case, Officer Mike Fowler reported burglars broke into Discount Tobacco Christmas Eve on North Thompson Lane where they stole $1,800 cash, a laptop computer, and $5,800 worth of cigarettes.

Officer Kristy Inglish reported burglars stole about $2,000 worth of items from Patsy Gaither of Harold Lane.

Property taken included a 42-inch flat screen TV, DVD player, videocassette player, checkbook, .22-caliber women’s handgun, miscellaneous jewelry, a collection of silver and gold coins, a $300 Laurel and Hardy coin and ammunition.

Officer Rashad Howse reported burglars removed about $3,600 worth of electronics Christmas Day from Josh Wendling of University Gables apartments on South Rutherford Boulevard.

Burglars took a 50-inch plasma TV, X box, Play Station 3, eight Play Station games, Blu Ray player, water bong, cigars and tobacco pipes.

Officer Brandon Brown reported burglars took about $2,400 worth of personal items Sunday from Gaylon Faulk of Poplar Avenue.

Property missing included a .22-caliber pistol, muzzleloader, rifle, shotgun, $40 in change, 16 1935-55 silver dollar bills, cell phones, laptop computer, checkbook, Jim Beam whiskey and vodka.
