Aggravated robbery and burglary charges were filed against one of three suspects accused of invading a home Friday on Ewing Boulevard, Murfreesboro Police reported.
Suspect Geordon W. Walker, 18, of Jetton Drive was charged with three counts of robbery and burglary of the home by Detective Mike Taylor.
Walker was believed to be one of three men who entered the home and ordered the victims to the floor, stealing their wallets and cell phones. The burglars took several game systems and electronics from the home.
Officer Samuel Smith observed three people in a vehicle a short time later at Jefferson Green apartments. Two fled while Walker drove away. Smith stopped Walker and found a handgun and property taken from Ewing Boulevard.
Detectives seized the property and the vehicle and charged Walker whose hearing is set March 2 in General Sessions Court.
Detective Richard Presley charged two other suspects with burglary.
Tatjana M. Tharpe, 19, of Lambeth Drive and Lazourus Grissom, 18, of National Drive, were charged with aggravated burglary and theft Monday of Craig Collins’ home where were accused of stealing a 2007 Ninja, tackle box and motorcycle helmet.
Patrol officers located Tharpe and Grissom in a car with the Ninja motorcycle on the side of the road. Collins’ property was found inside the car, Presley reported.
The suspects were interviewed at the police department and “admitted to their part in this burglary,” Presley reported.
Their hearings are scheduled March 8 in General Sessions Court.
In another burglary, Officer David Miller reported Barbara Matthael of New Salem Highway was sitting with a woman at her Cardinal Street home about 10 p.m. Monday when she heard someone in the hallway.
“She saw two figures standing there and one subject had a flashlight,” Miller reported.
The suspects ran out the back door with her cell phone.
Officer Kevin Dunn reported burglars broke into Fabis Alkaifee’s apartment on Greenland Drive and stole a TV, laptop computer, X Box 360, shotgun and bicycle valued at $2,800.
Also, Officer Matt Garrett reported burglars broke into Raul Liviano’s home on Silver Point Drive when he and his family were gone to a funeral. About $3,000 cash was missing.
