A man remains in serious condition following a stabbing Thursday evening in the 500 block of North Thompson Lane, according to officials with the Murfreesboro Police Department.

“Around 5 p.m., officers responded to the emergency room at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in reference to a stabbing that had occurred in the parking lot near (North) Thompson Lane and Medical Center Parkway,” said Sgt. Kyle Evans, public information officer for the Police Department.

Based on a preliminary investigation, Evans said, detectives believe that several individuals met outside of Bonefish Grill.

“Two of the individuals started to argue and engaged in a physical altercation,” he said. “During the altercation, one person was stabbed.”

Evans said the victim drove himself to the hospital, which is located on Medical Center Parkway less than one mile away from the restaurant.

“The suspect was quickly identified and taken into custody without incident,” he said. “The suspect is currently being interviewed by detectives.”

The identities of the stabbing victim and suspect have not yet been released to the public.
