MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Authorities with the Fatal Accident Crash Team are investigating a serious injury vehicle crash that occurred at about 6 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and Heritage Park Drive.

The crash resulted in one person being seriously injured, while another two suffered minor injuries, according to officials with the Murfreesboro Police Department.

A 2011 Nissan truck driven by Stephanie Easom, 33, was traveling on Memorial Boulevard when it collided with another vehicle driven by a 59-year-old man, officials said.

Both drivers are Murfreesboro residents.

"The second vehicle, a 1992 four-door Cadillac driven by Steven Alsup was traveling on Memorial Boulevard when it was struck in the front by the Nissan truck," said Sgt. Kyle Evans, public information officer for the Police Department. "A passenger in the vehicle, Joyce Alsup, suffered a serious injury and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by ambulance."

Both Easom and Steven Alsup were transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital with minor injuries, he said.

Evans said the FACT team is in the process of investigating the circumstances of the crash and more information would be released as it becomes available.
