An argument about a woman apparently prompted an ex-boyfriend to shoot her present boyfriend Wednesday afternoon on Sherrill Boulevard, Murfreesboro Police reported.
Victim Zaniel Radley, 18, of 1406 Eagle St. suffered the gunshot wound to his right arm, Officer Chris Pitts reported. Radley obtained treatment at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
Radley told Pitts he was standing in front of a home when approached by his girlfriend’s former boyfriend. They argued about her. Radley accused the former boyfriend of pulling a revolver out of his pants and firing one round at Radley, striking him in the arm.
The former boyfriend fired a second round toward Radley and a group of people but the round didn’t strike anyone, the officer reported.
Police were searching for the suspect who left in a maroon Dodge Durango.
People who have information about the shooting may call the Criminal Investigations Division at 893-2717 or Crime Stoppers at 893-STOP between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
