Police find marijuana during shooting probe

Police found a bag of marijuana in a resident’s home while investigating a gunshot through the ceiling of an apartment Wednesday on Journey Drive.

Victim Jessica Nagel of the Grove apartment complex found a hole in her ceiling, Officer Chris Pitts reported. One of her roommates found a spent bullet on the floor.

Pitts, Detective Paul Mongold and Detective Abe Vongphakdy talked to a neighbor.

“During the investigation, a bullet hole was found in the floor (of the apartment) and a 9mm pistol was found” in the neighbor’s room as well as a large bag of marijuana, Pitts reported.

No charges were filed yet. Detectives collected evidence and processed the crime scene as part of their probe.
