Planners OK site for East Main townhouses, retail

The Murfreesboro Planning Commission approved site plans for a townhouse and commercial development at the corner of Middle Tennessee Boulevard and East Main Street at its regular meeting Aug. 20.

Developer Regent Main Street had submitted a preliminary plat for three lots on 3.17 acres zoned planned residential development and planned commercial development. The rezoning requests for East Main Village were approved by the City Council in July.

Site plans for a 9,533-square-foot commercial development on 1.37 acres and for 43 multi-family townhouse units on 1.81 acres were also approved by Murfreesboro planners.

East Main Village will feature neighborhood-style retail stores and World War II-era style row houses.

Other site plats and plans approved by the planning commission included:

• Webb Flex Office Park site plan for 18,400 square feet on 3.3 acres zoned commercial highway located along MTCS Road, Bob Webb developer.

• Purlingbrook site plan for 159 multi-family units on 78.36 acres zoned planned residential development located along Asbury Lane, Wynn Berry developer.

This site plan for 159 residential town home units is located along the western side of
Asbury Lane. The planning commission and City Council approved a revised PRD application for this development this spring.

• Burger King site plan for 2,795 square feet on 1.41 acres zoned commercial highway located along South Church Street, Burger King Corp. developer.

This site plan is for a new fast food restaurant located along S. Church St. north of Warrior Drive.

• Westlawn, Section 1 final plat for 42 lots on 23.19 acres zoned PUD located along Veterans Parkway, Holrob Investments developer.

This final plat is for 42 single-family lots in the first section of the Westlawn
Development, located at the intersection of Shores Road and Veterans Parkway Road.

• Blackman Farm, Section 6 final plat for 53 lots on 10.64 acres zoned PRD located along Elderberry Way, Centex Homes developer.

This final plat for a single-family residential subdivision is located along the Blaze Drive extension north of Franklin Road.

Action was deferred on Family Worship Center's site plan for 39,236 square feet on 40 acres zoned RS-15 located along Mooreland Lane, Family Worship Center developer.

This site plan for a new worship center is located at the corner of Mooreland Lane and
Franklin Road. The Board of Zoning appeals approved a special use permit for this project at its June 25 meeting.
