Phone call leads to burglary discovery

One man became suspicious when an ex-in-law called to see if he was at home while he was at a bar late Sunday night, a sheriff’s deputy reported.

James Todd McBride left the bar and returned to his home on Church Street in Christiana to find someone stole about $1,620 worth of property from his home, Deputy Michael Parsons reported. McBride and a friend secured the home. Later, they heard someone drive by and fire two rounds before speeding away.

Deputies recovered one spent casing in the road.

Burglars escaped with a shotgun, .380-caliber handgun, two magazines, a Lebanon High School class ring and a public address system for music equipment.

Detective Steve Brown is investigating.

In another case, someone damaged a console and compact disc holder in a car owned by Deidre Tapp of Almaville Road. About 1,000 rap and heavy metal CDs were stolen from the car. Carly Deep of Crestmount Drive owned the CDs.

Deputy Luis Parra-Flores reported burglars stole a John Deere manure spreader, a Remington 12-gauge shotgun, a saw and change from Karl Lynch of Christiana-Hoovers Gap Road. The property was valued at $2,554.

Burglars stole about $1,650 in property from Hanna Visocky of Dilton-Mankin Road. Items taken included a DVD player, gold ring, Play Station 2, knives, two saws and a battery charger.

May as well make Rutherford County a metro area.Maybe then we can get more law enforcement.We have as much crime as Nashville.What about armed citizen patrols? Sign me up.

Steve Brown? Yea, good luck with that one. We got burglarized last year and he never even called us back after the second day. Anyway, 1000 rap cds??? I doubt it.
