One pedestrian suffered minor injuries when struck by a Ford vehicle Christmas Eve night on South Bilbro Avenue, a Murfreesboro Police officer said.

Illey Brandon, 47, of Richardson Avenue was walking with his brother, Ervin Davis, near Minor Street when a gray or silver Ford SUV struck Brandon and left the scene, Officer Kenneth White reported.

Brandon suffered minor injuries, the officer reported. He was treated at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

Plastic parts of a headlight and grill left at the scene indicated the vehicle was a Ford.

“I also believe this was not a personal injury crash,” White reported. “It was a deliberate act assaulting Illey with the motor vehicle.”

In an unrelated case, Officer Marja Atchley responded to a large fight Dec. 26 at the 527 Club on Main Street.

Victim Amber Lewis, 21, of Lascassas suffered a large gash to the back of her head.

“She stated that an Asian male hit her with a beer bottle,” but could not identify a suspect due to her level of intoxication, Atchley reported.

Paramedics took Lewis to Middle Tennessee Medical Center for treatment.
