Pearl Hammond, 70, of Murfreesboro, died at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., on Oct. 18, 2013.
Mrs. Hammond was born in Loudon, Tenn., to the late Charles Earl Viars and Sallie Evelyne Smith Viars.
She was a homemaker, member of New Vision Baptist Church, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sallie Viars.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Hammond; daughters, Jonna Freeman and her husband, Dennis, of Loudon, and Leesa Simpson and Katy Hammond, both of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren; as well as a brother, Leon Viars, and his wife, Patricia, of Brentwood, Tenn.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. until the funeral at 1 p.m. at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Pastor Brady Cooper officiating. Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
