Pawbowsky’s sets new ‘Dog House’ on Memorial

ERIN EDGEMON, Post Columnist

There is good news for lovers of Pawbowsky’s Dog House’s Chicago-style hotdogs.

A second restaurant location is coming to 2445 Memorial Blvd. near Papa Murphy’s and Great Harvest Bread Co., across the street from SportsCom, said co-owner Drew Harrison.

“We are hoping that it is going to be open in mid-March,” he said. “We are pressing to get it open.”

When asked why he and his business partner, John Duchene, decided to open another location, Harrison said, “We have had requests for years to go to that side of town.”

Harrison, who has worked at Pawbowsky’s for years, and Duchene bought the restaurant from the previous owner in December. Pawbowsky’s first opened in 1999.

Since purchasing the restaurant Harrison and Duchene have updated the look of the current restaurant by changing the seating, adding items to the menu and adding four televisions.

Pawbowsky’s serves a variety of food including Vienna beef hotdogs, burgers and hot wings.

Bobby McKee’s Irish Pub is set to open just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, confirmed owner Luke McKee.

McKee said he is trying to have the pub open by March 11 in The Shops at Stones River, the outdoor lifestyle center, at Stones River Mall.

McKee, who also owns Blue Rooster in Murfreesboro, says Bobby McKee's was named after his Irish father - "the Pub is inspired by my father, who is extremely proud of his heritage and loves good times with family and good Irish food."

The 6,000-square-foot Bobby McKee's Pub will have something for all ages, ranging from moderately priced traditional Irish favorites to good ole' American fare and more than 100 imported and domestic beers. The menu has a plentiful selection of Irish comfort food, including shepherd's pie, corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, and more. McKee recommends the lamb stew, a secret family recipe, made from scratch daily.
