Police are looking for suspects in an attempted murder from last week after the wife of a local pastor was found tied up in a burning car Friday.

Stanley Clark, 51, pastor at True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, returned home from a high school football game and he found his wife bound by zip ties inside a burning car.

Police arrived on scene and found Latorcia Clark, 46, conscious but injured. After her husband removed Clark from the car, it became fully engulfed in flames.

Clark told her husband that she was hit over the head and then dragged to the car. The subject who dragged her to the car used zip ties and shoe strings to tie her hands and arms together. When the culprit tried to start the car and couldn’t he fled the scene.

Murfreesboro Police Spokesman Kyle Evans told WGNS the case is under investigation and kidnapping charges and aggravated arson charges could be filed in addition to attempted murder when the attacker is caught.

Clark was treated at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

You got that right. We live a block over from this, we heard the explosions & saw the fire not knowing that this poor woman was in the fire. Didn't I hear her say that she thought she heard her stepson's voice???? She wasn't suppose to be there but she decided to stop by her home before going to work???? Yeah something really stinks. I'll be glad when they catch the person or people.
Mrs. Clark, my husband & I are grateful that you are alive & will be ok.
