It’s been a busy summer for Murfreesboro Rock School, a local organization dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through music education.
It has been so busy that it outgrew its facility space due to local interest in the summer program.
Local leaders at Kingdom Living Ministries have stepped up to the plate making a bigger, better Murfreesboro Rock Camp possible.
In a thriving new partnership, these two organizations have come together to make this vital summer music education program available to Murfreesboro’s youth.
Murfreesboro Rock Camp will be held at Kingdom Living Ministries, 1444 W Jefferson Pike, a local ministry founded in 2003 by Steffron and Gwendolyn James. The James family and their congregation have opened their arms to give back to the community by supporting music education and the positive influence the arts have in the lives of children.
With a perfect location, there is room at Murfreesboro Rock Camp for additional campers to get involved in this life changing summer program.
Local kids looking for a fun new experience this summer can sign up for Murfreesboro Rock Camp, a five-day music program from July 18-22 for young people ages 8-18 focused on all things Rock, from creating and performing, to promoting and recording.
Rock Camp teachers and volunteers will help students create new bands, write their own music, record demo CDs, run sound equipment for live shows, promote the music, star in music videos, design graphics for CDs and T-shirts, perform in a live showcase on July 23, and so much more.
Learning to perform music has been statistically linked to higher grades, a lower rate of student drop outs and improved self-esteem in children.
Registration is open for the summer 2011 sessions of Murfreesboro Rock Camp.
