One man robbed, one robbery suspect charged

Someone robbed a Murfreesboro man at gunpoint of $100 and his cell phone about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday on Hancock Street, a Murfreesboro Police officer reported. Victim Michael Rashkey of New Salem Highway reported he was driving on Hancock Street when a man flagged him down and walked up to his car, Officer J.D. Vaught reported. “Once there, the suspect pulled a pistol, pointed it at him and said, ‘Come up with all of it,’” Vaught reported. Rashkey turned over his money and cell phone, and the suspect fled. Rashkey called police. Officers searched for the suspect but were unable to locate him. In another case, Detective Abe Vongphakdy charged suspect Danny D. Holmes, 19, of 911 Riviera Drive with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and five counts of felony reckless endangerment May 2. Victim Omar Garcia reported a suspect robbed him and shot at him May 2 at Crossway Apartments off Greenland Drive. While processing the crime scene, the detective learned the suspect was in custody. Garcia identified him. "Garcia advised that when Mr. Holmes was shooting at him, there were several witnesses around,” Vongprakdy reported. Holmes was charged and booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where a hearing is pending in General Sessions Court.
