Ona Ruth Haynes, age 95, of Murfreesboro, passed away on Aug. 30, 2011 at Northside Health Care Center.

She was a native of Bedford County. Ona was a member of Zion’s Hill United Methodist Church of Unionville and a homemaker.

Ona was preceded in death by her parents, William Malcom and Ethel Kate Haynes Crick; husband, Charles Winford Haynes; and daughter, Linda Lou Barrett. She is survived by her daughters, Billie Ann (Alton) Pruitt in Murfreesboro, Katie Joyce (Charles) Scales of College Grove, Virginia Sue Smith of Shelbyville, Willie Maxine (William) Busey of Murfreesboro and Martha Faye (Jesse) Baugher of Shelbyville; sister, Lena Myrtle Barnes of Murfreesboro; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Larry Nobles officiating. Burial will follow at Cothran Cemetery with grandsons serving as active pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home; 820 South Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130. 615-893-2422.
