I am amazed that people are so against this bill. I think it doesn't go far enough!!!!

The problem is that the people who already have insurance and take care of themselves and their families are going to foot the bill for all of those who won't fend for themselves. I believe there are people who deserve the governments help but a vast majority abuse the systems in place to help those who truly need it.
Of course anyone who receives free help wont have any problem at all taking more and more while middle America feels the redistribution of wealth.
Furthermore, every program under government control has, or is jeopardy of, going belly up or spiraling out of control. Just look at social security, medicaid, the postal service, etc... The government is too big and fat (I mean vertically challenged for those PC nuts) to be efficient.
The truth is that hard working, responsible Americans; the ones who don't even get government aid; will pay, for generations to come, and are the REAL force behind the biggest bailout in history: The bailout of the poorly governed United States of America as a whole.

Thanks "bravo", well said! That too big and fat quote should include all government, all the way from the feds to the city.

I work in healthcare and have to deal with insurance companies. this bill does not go far enough we should have a single payer system. We should have been able to buy into Medicare. That would have been competition to the insurance co's.

If Obamacare is such the terrific deal it's neo-socialist supporters claim, why have nearly 250 companies and unions asked to be exempted? That number grows daily. Many of those same unions who dismissed the idea that companies would simply jettison their health care are now loudly and publically demanding exemptions. Go figure! Moreover, somebody has to pay for the "free" care and you can guess who that will be fellow taxpayers. To a person, everyone who I have spoken with who works in the health care industry is opposed to this legislation on very solid grounds. Sadly, there are those who are more than happy to remain firmly attached to the nipple of mother government and feel they are entitled. Safety net programs of a temporary nature are one thing, but cradle to grave government dependence is quite another. One other item for those who have not been paying attention: We can't afford it. We're broke and 14 trillion dollars in the hole.
