An arctic cold front is currently moving through southeastern Missouri at this time.
Surface winds have increased across Middle Tennessee in response to a tightening in the surface pressure gradient out ahead of this system.
Wind gusts today across Middle Tennessee could reach as high as 40 mph.
The arctic front will pass through Nashville around 9 p.m. this evening.
Temperatures will fall sharply behind the front (from 70's ahead of front and into the upper 20's in the Clarksville area to near freezing in Nashville by daybreak Friday.
We could see a mix of light rain, sleet and even snow flurries after midnight tonight over the north half of the mid state. Friday will be a cold day with highs in the lower 40s.
Today's high is expect to be 74 in Nashville. The highest temperature ever recorded in Nashville on Thanksgiving is 77 degrees back on November 22, 1900. That Thanksgiving was accompanied by a tornado outbreak that saw long track tornadoes in Middle Tennessee.
