The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for all of Middle Tennessee through Monday morning. A tornado warning is also in effect until 4 p.m. Saturday.

Severe thunderstorms are possible Saturday ahead of a slow moving cold front. Isolated tornadoes may develop as well. Additionally flooding and/or flash flooding may occur. The threat of more severe thunderstorms and flooding will continue Sunday and into early Monday morning.

Periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected as a slow moving weather system will bring significant rainfall to Middle Tennessee. Expect 2 to 4 inches of rainfall with local amounts to 8 inches.

This significant rainfall will impact the mid-state on Saturday and Sunday and likely produce flash flooding.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.

Hey Post editor, there is a huge difference between a tornado warning and a tornado watch. The NWS has issued a tornado WATCH until 4pm today. A tornado warning means there is a radar indicated tornado, or someone actually spotted a tornado. Geez, whatever happened to proof reading?

Uh-oh. Looks like the Post has been taken over by the incompetents at the Newsless Journal!

not so fast. looks like a cut and paste job from the NWS website, email or text blast.

Geez, it is a typo. It is pretty clear that the tornado warning was the one on the top until 3:45. Big deal. Why would you rely on the Post website for the weather anyway?
