Norris Hall to autograph books Saturday | Event,Books,Norris Hall,Barnes & Noble

Barnes and Noble at The Avenue is hosting a new and local author event at 2 p.m. Saturday. Several local authors and illustrators will be on hand to meet and have their books signed on site.

Two of those local author and illustrators are Murfeesboro’s Elaine Palmore and Norris Hall. Elaine is publishing a series of books illustrated by Norris under the title Fresh Fables that brings child like whimsy and adult wisdom to the struggles of the human condition.

The first book in the series to be released and the book that will be featured Saturday is The Dragon Who Lives At Our House. In families were substance abuse is prevalent family life can be chaotic and unpredictable. Children are often left feeling confused and abandoned.

The Dragon Who Lives At Our House addresses the issue of substance abuse within the home. The Dragon Who Lives At Our House is a beautifully written book that uses colorful and delightful illustrations by Norris Hall to introduce Al the Dragon.

When Al the Dragon first came home with Dad he was harmless and fun. It soon became apparent that what seemed like fun could quickly get out of control. Elaine’s writing paired with Norris’s illustrations tells the story of a family coping with the effects of substance abuse within the home beautifully.

“This is the only book of its kind written in picture book form that helps to explain the addiction and recovery process. My hope is that this book will become an invaluable resource for parents, teachers, counselors, faith based care givers and anyone who may be dealing with substance abuse within their home,” author Elaine Palmore said.

The Dragon That Lives At our House is published by Rising Star Studios and can be purchased locally at Barnes and Noble Murfreesboro and on the Internet at Amazon.com; Barnesandnoble.com and Borders.com. The soft cover retails for $7.99 and the Hardcover retails for $12.95.

The author, Elaine Palmore, is a Middle Tennessee native.  She was educated at University of Tennessee for her Bachelors degree and at Belmont University for her Masters degree in Teaching.  She is also a certified Montessori teacher with many years of classroom experience in both private and public schools.  Elaine has authored articles in several internationally published educational journals.

Norris Hall has been recognized by UPS as one of America’s Top Ten Most Intriguing Small Businesses.  He is a graduate of Austin Peay State University and began his career in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee.  Norris has designed projects for Disneyland in Paris, France, the Nashville Ballet and the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.  He has been voted Best Visual Artist by the Nashville Scene.  Norris Hall is one of Middle Tennessee’s most commissioned artists.
