Daiei America, Inc., a Nissan supplier, is pleased to announce the location of its first U.S. manufacturing operation in a new facility on Joe B. Jackson Parkway in Murfreesboro.
 
Daiei first started in 1959 with manufacturing and exports.

In 1964, it diversified into plastic injection molding and began specializing in the manufacturing of automotive components.  The company will begin operations this summer, with plans to hire approximately 55 new employees during Phase I.

“We are thrilled company officials chose Murfreesboro and Rutherford County to locate their facility and provide new jobs for our residents,” said Gordon Ferguson, chairman of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. “We commend the partnership of the State of Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development, Tennessee Valley Authority and the City of Murfreesboro staff in working with the Chamber to bring these jobs to our community.”
 
The company has continued to grow and diversify in Japan, and its leadership team includes Hidetoshi Ogawa, president; Patricia Malone, human resource director; Melissa Fairrel, accounting manager; Steve Hedges, engineer manager; and Connie Bryant, quality specialist.

Daiei is currently seeking applicants for the following positions: one translator/interpreter and one production supervisor to begin immediately on June 1, two assembly operators, one to begin working in November and the other to begin mid-December, and two injection molding operators, one in July and one in mid-October. In addition, the company is seeking one contracted inspector in November.
