Middle Tennessee Christian School's season got an extension Monday when Sunbright agreed to play the Cougars in the first Logan's Roadhouse Bowl 7 p.m. Thursday at MTCS.
"We're really excited," MTCS assistant coach Brandon Bassham said. "The kids are really excited about it."
MTCS went 6-4 during the regular season and defeated David Brainerd Christian 32-12 last week. Sunbright went 5-5 and finished 2-4 in Region 2-1A. The Tigers fell to Coalfield 18-6 in their regular-season finale.
"We told the kids as the season started if we did well we had the possibility of (playing in the postseason)," Bassham said. "We asked them (Monday morning) if they wanted to do it. They seemed excited."
The Cougars, who are in their second season with a football program, could be without the services of defensive back Eric Compton, who sustained a concussion last week against David Brainerd Christian.
