Statutory rape charges were filed Wednesday against a suspect accused of having sex multiple times with a 13-year-old girl, a Murfreesboro Police detective reported.

Suspect Ever Ricardo Morales, 22, of Fourth Avenue was charged with five counts of statutory rape after an investigation by Detective Tommy Roberts.

Roberts was following up on a domestic assault case and learned Morales allegedly had sexual contact with the girl when she was 13.

“Morales admitted having sex with her starting March of 2008 and through July of 2009,” Roberts reported. “(The) victim stated that it has been going on longer.”

The suspect was born in Guatemala and does not possess any legal documents to show his age. He has been in Tennessee since 2006.

Morales was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where he is being held. A hearing is set Sept. 3 in General Sessions Court.

This illegal idiot deserves the death penalty.

But he and his friends work so hard.

Different culture. It's okay since she is a woman in their society...

And they want to make illegals citizens.

What does his immigration status have to do with it? You can't be suggesting this would be OK for a legal immigrant or a citizen to do.

I realize the man is from Guatemala, but to show an example of laws in other countries, here is one from Mexico:

"In most of Mexico, the age of consent for sexual activity is 12, and only in Mexico state is it over 14. This means that the crime of statutory rape in much of Mexico only applies to girls who in many cases are too young to become pregnant."

Whether an immigrant is legal or illegal doesn't have much to do with this. It's the lack of education. Maybe the "sponsors" and "employers" of these people should at least provide them with a brochure in their language listing common law violations. "DO NOT HAVE SEX WITH SOMEONE UNDER 18 YEARS OLD. EVEN ANOTHER IMMIGRANT FROM YOUR OWN COUNTRY"

What his immigration status has to do with it is that if he was not here illegally then the poor girl would not have been raped.

There is a process to obtain legal status in this country. Those that are here for the right reasons go through that process. Others are just here to be a burden on the hard-working taxpayers.

I think what bennychaff is saying is that if the government were to give the illegals amnesty then creeps like this guy would become a legal citizen. He's sure not the type of person I would like to call an

Right on Boltaction. His lack of citizenship obviously has ALOT to do with it. His disregard for the law is already apparent just by the fact that his even over here. Therefore what makes you think he gives a flying crap about any other laws? Even if he was ignorant to that law what difference does it make? He broke the law. If you go to Singapore and throw your gum wrapper on the ground do you think they will care that you didn't know the law?

My, my. So many assumptions, so few facts.
August 01, 2009 at 6:21am
My, my. Another ignorant nondescript vague one liner from "Justus", big surprise. The FACT is he is 22 and admitted to sleeping with a 13 year old and some of you sickos are making excuses for him. Pretty sickening.

It is more than sickening that he raped a 13 year old, if that is in fact what he did. It is sickening that some would take advantage of a tragedy like this to make their political points on the immigration issue.

My daughter was raped when she was 14 by a 42 yr old man that was her best friends step father. He is now serving 25yrs in the state pen.(River Bend) And I feel that it is not enough. I think that they ought to casterate the SOB's.

I want everyone to understand there's no way I'm excusing this man's behavior. I agree illegal status has a lot to do with this type of sick behavior. Just because sex with "children" is acceptable in their own countries, makes them believe it's acceptable here.

Justus.... the man admitted to having sex with the child. Whether or not he described it as consentual or he forced himself upon the child.... it is STATUTORY RAPE. No if's or but's about it.

Porchcat I'm sorry that happened to her, but I'm glad he's doing 25 years. By the time he's released he'll be naturally castrated... and who knows? If it's true as rumors go, that rapists get raped themselves during incarceration... justice is doubly served.

Geana, the man is reported to have confessed. He may have confessed. He may have been telling the truth. We don't know.

At this point all we know is what is in the paper.

I agree that convicted rapists should be punished severely. Too often they are not.

Come on, it is alright to kill unborn babies and this is an issue?
August 02, 2009 at 8:43pm
ItsGood, are you saying that rape is not an issue? Frankly, I don't understand your point unless it is just to say that killing unborn babies is wrong, which no one would dispute. All human life is sacred.
August 03, 2009 at 9:25am
First of all ItsGood, you are a dingdong.

Now, There are certain people who aren't allowed to legally consent to sex. Kids are one of them. This guy knew that he was doing something wrong. These illegals are very savvy about the laws of the US. They know their rights when they get arrested. The fact that he may be claiming that he didn't know he was breaking the law doesn't matter. He knew that he has broken several laws here and it didn't matter to him at all. I wonder how he had access to this girl. What kind of country would we be living in if we were to accept the claims from criminals who said that they didn't know they were breaking the law. Sure this does happen but if an citizen tries this tactic it doesn't work and they still get arrested. This guy should be convicted, then deported. He voilated this girl and she may suffer for many years. This guy is now going to be represented by a public defender, he may claim he needs a translator, all of these rights I am sure he is aware. To assume that he didn't know he was doing anything wrong is plain stupid.

Geana, You are grossly negligent of what law is...statutory rape is NOT a common law violation, it is a STATUTE meaning it is only law if you consent and agree to it(ie. consent of governed). It is therefore not REAL rape, which would be a violation of common law(ie. injury). This truly would have no standing in a common law court or any major society for that matter. It was not uncommon in most civilizations now and of times past that 12-16 year olds were given into marriage, now all of a sudden this is wrong? Please people...I see the hardness in your hearts not willing to forgive and because of this don't expect forgiveness from God(ie forgive us as we forgive others). Is it not logical or reasonable to see that once a woman is capable of pregnancy it would be God's way of saying that they are ready for sex? Otherwise why would He make them capable of such if they were mentally unable at the same time? The age of sexual maturity should be the deciding factor wether it is sex or child rape. So wether they sexually mature at 12 or even 18 should be the question rather than a certain set statute which is completely inadequate in deciphering a person's sexual cabability. For example it cannot disinguish the difference between a 13 yr old who has the body and intelligence of an adult or the 18 yr old girl who can't seem to get right due to consistently poor decision making and lack of life skills in general.

It is not the violation of statutes that sickens me, it is the utter incapability of people to forgive and their lust of severe punishment in pursuit of their own vengeance instead of asking God to enact justice out of lack of faith. However, I don't expect much of you to realize and understand that justice isn't only limited to jailtime...even then your bloodthirsty, hard hearts will never be satisfied despite the most severe of punishments. I pray for your souls...really.
