Adventist Community Services of Middle Tennessee has food, clothing, toys and other items available for Good Friday Tornado victims.
James Goodman, ACS Emergency Services director, said the response from the community has been overwhelming.
“I have all this stuff,” Goodman said. “And it’s nice stuff.”
He has a semi trailer filled with donated clothing and rooms filled to the brim with donated food for victims of the tornado.
“I’ll die of old age before all the clothes are gone,” he said.
The Heart of Tennessee Red Cross has been referring potential donors to Goodman, who has accepted all kinds of clothing and other donations from the local community.
On Monday, a truckload of food showed up from Heritage Elementary School in Thompson’s Station, Tenn.
The students held a food drive for tornado victims last week and the response was overwhelming, PTO President Susan Zemek said. The children raised more than 22,000 items from pantry staples to diapers for ACS.
“It’s an amazing response. I’m still kind of blown away,” she said.
Tornado victims can visit the ACS store, where they can pick up a few new sets of clothes and a box of food free of charge, at 2815 Elam Road in Murfreesboro.
The store will be open this week from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Victims can call 615-217-9322 for more information. |
