More than 300 hits of paper LSD, a large amount of liquid LSD and what was believed to be methamphetamine was confiscated after a traffic stop Thursday by Murfreesboro Police’s Vice Unit.
Six suspects, including one MTSU student, were charged, said police spokesman Kyle Evans.
Vice Detectives were conducting surveillance near University Gables Apartments at 2827 South Rutherford Blvd. During their investigation, a vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation.
With the assistance of the Crime Suppression Unit and the department’s drug K-9, a quantity of marijuana and paraphernalia used to smoke marijuana was discovered inside the vehicle, Evans said. A subsequent search revealed more than 300 hits of LSD.
Driver Matthew Uribe, 21, of Gainesville, Fla., and passenger Ericka Tidmoie, 29, of Joliet, Ill., were arrested for possession of LSD (Schedule 1), possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Detectives then went to the apartment it was believed the two suspects had been at prior to the stop and received permission to search the dwelling, the spokesman said. Detectives discovered a large quantity of liquid LSD, Ecstasy, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, scales used to sell and distribute narcotics, Adderolll, a Schedule II drug and what was believed to be crystal methamphetamine.
Four individuals at this location were charged.
MTSU student Nathan Vanderpool, and roommates David Luke, and Carter Hayes, all 21, of University Gables apartments were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling for the sale of drugs. Vanderpool and Hayes were charged with possession of marijuana.
Luke was charged with possession of LSD and Schedule III drugs while Hayes was charged with possession of Schedule II drugs.
Justin Russell, 20, of 1022 Bell St. was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Detectives confiscated a large amount of cash and a vehicle believed used to transport drugs.
Hearings on the suspects are pending in General Sessions Court.
