Weather conditions Wednesday morning due heavy rainfall the previous 24 hours forced cancellaton of the second day of the TSSAA Class AAA State Golf Tournament, leaving Tuesday's first round as the final results.
The TSSAA released the following statement this morning, "Due to weather conditions and the fact that we have some fairways saturated, standing water on some greens, and that we would have to complete 18 holes of play with the field, today’s play has been cancelled. Under USGA rules of golf, the Division I Class AAA tournament will be an 18-hole tournament."
Tuesday's results below then were be the final standings.
Oakland's Lexus Keoninh and Riverdale's Ryan Pierson shot a two-under 70 Tuesday to earn the No. 3 spot in the individual competition at the TSSAA Boys State Class AAA Golf Tournament at Old Fort Park course as rain forced multiple delays on the first day of the two-day event.
The top four boys' finishers were:
Cory Gaylord (Jr.), Houston 35-33--68
Mason Griffin (Jr.), Oak Ridge 37-32--69
Lexus Keoninh (Sr.), Oakland 34-36--70
Ryan Pierson (Sr.), Riverdale 37-33--70
Oakland's team shot a 313 for the day, well off the pace of tournament-leading Knoxville Farragut's 295.
Team standings at the end of the day were: Farragut 295, Houston 299, Hendersonville 304, Walker Valley 309, Ravenwood 310, Jefferson County 311, Oakland 313, Brighton 328.

Siegel's girls team was in fifth place, eight strokes off the leader pace. Team standings after day one were: Rossview 153, Soddy-Daisy 157, Houston 158, Hardin County 159, Siegel 161, Jefferson County 162, Ravenwood 166, William Blount 167.
