Publix Super Markets is proud to announce the opening of a new store in Murfreesboro on New Salem Highway. A grand opening ceremony will take place Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 6:45 a.m.

Grand Opening Day will include a ribbon cutting ceremony with the new store associates and local elected officials. This will be the fifth store in Rutherford County.

The 45,600 square-feet store will contain the traditional grocery, meat, produce, dairy and frozen food departments in addition to the following full-service departments: pharmacy, bakery, deli, and fresh seafood. Approximately 110 associates staff the store.

A unique feature for this store includes a pharmacy drive through window for customer convenience. Also, to conserve energy motion sensitive lighting is installed in the frozen food cases.

The first 1,500 customers will receive a free Publix re-usable grocery bag.

Carnations will be given to customers as they enter the store while supplies last.

The first 25 customers who purchase $25 or more in groceries will win a free bag of groceries valued at $25.

Fun activities for children will take place from 3 – 8 p.m. including a magician, balloon artist and caricature artist. Customers will be encouraged to register to win prizes throughout the store including a $100 gift card from Publix, desert platter, deli platter and fresh products from the meat and produce departments.
