New Life University offering suicide prevention class July 18-19

New Life University (NLU), in cooperation with Branches Counseling Center– Murfreesboro, will conduct a Suicide Prevention class July 18-19, taught by Tracey Robison, LPC, MHSP, the clinical director of Branches Counseling Center.

The class will equip each participant to assess the danger of, and offer intervention for, suicide prone clients, friends, family members, etc. Robison will share personal stories and give practical ways to assess the intentions of anyone who may be struggling with suicidal thoughts or actions.

The class is open to the public and will be held Friday evening and Saturday, July 18-19. Friday evening’s class runs 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., and Saturday’s class from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Cost of the class is $49 per person for non-NLU students. Registration and payment is due in advance. Deadline for registration is Thursday, July 3.

New Life University (NLU) was founded in 2008 in Murfreesboro and is an educational and training organization for Christian counselors. NLU includes ministers, professional Christian counselors, testing specialists, medical doctors, attorneys and educators. The two-year NLU program offers credentialing for pastoral counselors through the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). The NCCA certification/licensing program is not to be identified nor confused with state licensing in any way.

Branches Counseling Center was founded in 2007 and has offices in Murfreesboro, Lebanon, Springfield and St. Augustine, Fla. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, faith based counseling center offering healing and hope for those struggling with family or emotional issues both adult and children, anxiety, depression or addiction regardless of ability to pay. The dedicated and well-trained staff of both state licensed and pastoral counselors work with couples, individuals, children, and teens to bring the very best of traditional counseling and Biblical principles to personal, family, and relational issues to help bring meaning and wholeness to everyone the center serves.
