The Civil War Trails program installed Thursday the first of seven interpretive signs in the Murfreesboro area at the Thompson Lane Trailhead. From left, Mitchell Bowman, executive director of CWT, Mona Herring, Chamber visitors bureau, and Gib Backlund, Stones River National Battlefield.

Markers are being erected in La Vergne to mark the home of Confederate spy, Mary Kate Patterson, at the Smyrna Railroad Depot, the Sam Davis Home, and in Murfreesboro at Thompson Lane, Bragg Trail Head, Fortress Rosecrans, Evergreen Cemetery, Oaklands Historic House and at the Courthouse.
