NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Louis F. Caputo has been named chief executive officer of StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, company officials announced Friday.
Caputo is joining StoneCrest Medical Center, which is part of a network of hospitals in the TriStar Health division, after serving as head of Summerville Medical Center in Summerville, S.C. He will officially take the lead at TriStar on Monday, March 3.
Caputo, who has more than 10 years of executive leadership in both administrative and operational areas within HCA Healthcare, has served as CEO of Summerville Medical Center for the past five years.
Under his leadership, the 94-bed acute care hospital launched a 30-bed expansion and several key service lines including, pediatric emergency, bariatric, advanced wound care and hyperbaric services.

Caputo earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., and a master’s degree in business administration from Belmont University in Nashville. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
TriStar Health has 21 hospitals, 10 ambulatory surgery centers, numerous diagnostic imaging, physician practices and occupational health sites that treat 127,000 patients and 584,000 emergency room visits annually.
