Nashville man injured in shooting

One man suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder during a robbery attempted just before midnight Wednesday at Haynes Manor apartments, Murfreesboro Police reported.

Victim Darwin Bohannon of Nashville was treated for his injuries at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, Officer Bryan Anderson reported.

Bohannon reported a man tried to rob him with a handgun on Sevier Street, Anderson reported. Bohannon pushed the gun away and ran. As he ran, he heard gunshots and realized he suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He went to the emergency room.

However, Detective Ed Gorham investigated a call about a shooting at Haynes Manor at West Northfield Boulevard.

Detective John Singleton interviewed Bohannon who didn’t wish to prosecute a suspect in custody.

Two men pulled a rifle on a resident during an attempted burglary about 10 p.m. Sunday at his home near MTSU, Officer Jacob Lamb reported.

Victim Morgan Adams of Ewing Boulevard reported a man knocked on his door and asked for Mark, Lamb reported.

“A few seconds later, another black male jumped out from behind bushes in his yard with what appeared to be a rifle and pointed it at him,” Lamb reported.

Adams shut the door on the weapon.

He described the suspects as two black men about 18 to 20 years old. One had short-cropped hair, a lean build and light skin. The second man had a large builds with his hair styled in cornrows.

One bandit escaped with cash from Quick Check cash advance about 5 p.m. Tuesday on West Northfield Boulevard, Officer Chris Norville reported.

The man entered the business and asked about a check advance, the officer reported. He moved over to a clerk’s desk, produced a pistol and demanded all the money.

Two employees emptied the cash drawers and gave him less than $1,000, police reported.

He was described as a black man with a stocky build. He wore a blue hoodie, blue jeans and sunglasses. He wore a full beard.

In an unrelated case, Officer Tommy Massey reported a Papa John’s Pizza deliverer was beaten and robbed about 10:55 p.m. Tuesday on Higgins Lane.

The deliverer told Massey one man attempted to pay for the $49 order but only paid $44. The man went behind a home and returned with a baseball bat, stating, “We’re taking the pizzas and your money.”

“He was then punched in the jaw and struck just below the right knee with the baseball bat,” Massey reported.

The deliverer suffered a chipped tooth and a large mark on his leg. He ran, leaving his car behind.

Massey returned to the location and helped the deliverer retrieve his vehicle that was still running.

The suspects were described as two young black men between age 15 and 18.
