Nashville jazz artists jam for WMOT

The Nashville Jazz Orchestra, the Nashville Jazz Workshop and the Tennessee Jazz and Blues Society presents “An All-Star Jazz Rally for WMOT” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Limelight, 201 Woodland St. in Nashville.

Scheduled performers include the Nashville Jazz Orchestra with Connye Florance, Annie Sellick and Matt Belsante; Victor Wooten; Rod McGaha; The Pat Coil Sextet; Christina Watson; and El Movimiento with Rahsaan Barber, Edwin Santiago and Giovanni Rodriguez.

Felix Cavaliere, former keyboardist and vocalist for The Rascals (“Good Lovin’,” “Groovin’,” “People Got to be Free”), is slated to make a special guest appearance with Diane Marino.

The concert is a fundraising benefit for WMOT-FM, the music and public affairs voice of the MTSU community, a 24-hour station with an all-jazz format that the university has operated for nearly 40 years.
