The Murfreesboro Branch will host the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Brunch on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the James Union Building on the campus of MTSU.

Criteria for NAACP Jerry Anderson Hero/Humanitarian Award:
1. Any person that lives in Rutherford or surrounding counties without regard to race, creed or color who has contributed outstanding leadership in the community or has performed a heroic deed is eligible.
2. The individual selected shall have actively worked with various groups or demonstrated exceptional courage and heroic behavior.
3. The award is not limited to members of the NAACP. Procedures for Nominations
All nominations for the Jerry Anderson Hero/Humanitarian Award shall include the following:
1. Introduction and rational for recommendation
2. Biographical sketch of the nominee
3. Documentary evidence such as newspaper clippings or typed testimonials from persons who know the individual (no less that 2 typed testimonials)
4. Documented tapes, films or recordings are welcomed
