Music City Roots is embarking upon new territory with the release of their new album, Roots Moments: Special Live Cuts From Season One.

The 11-song compilation highlights a few of the most stellar performances from the show’s first season.

The weekly gig from the Loveless Barn is still going strong with its roots and Americana music series since it’s beginning in 2009.

“The tremendous artists who grace our stage week after week are a gift to lovers of musical authenticity and integrity the world over, and we’re proud to release what we hope to be the first of many such collections of excellent and diverse artistry,” MCR co-founder John Walker said.

“We feel like we’re part of a very important movement in roots and Americana music and the music business in general. We hope this CD makes some history of its own.”

Artists featured on the album include Jim Lauderdale, Nanci Griffith, Charlie Louvin, Caitlin Rose, Mike Farris, Sam Bush and The Black Lillies. The album is also available to stream via Soundcloud.

Part of the proceeds from album sales will be donated to The Nature Conservancy.
