Name: Fran Campbell
Title: Symphony Manager
Company name: Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra
Web site: www.murfreesborosymphony.com
Address: 201 E. Main St., Ste. 106
Time in current position: Eight months
What does your company produce? Beautiful music.
What is your basic business philosophy? To enrich and entertain the people of Murfreesboro and surrounding areas through music. By presenting audiences with a variety of musical styles, everything from traditional classical music to paying tribute to some of pop music’s greatest heroes, we can introduce them to new genres that they may have never considered before. All music is built on the foundation of what came before, and we pay homage to the history of music each season.
Give us a sales pitch in 25 words or less: The MSO works hard to make the symphony accessible to everyone by offering a professional orchestra performing world-class music at a price that doesn’t limit the appreciation of music to only the wealthy.
What is your proudest business achievement? I am blessed to work with such wonderful people and being a part of such a great organization.
What led you to Murfreesboro? My husband's job brought us here seven years ago.
What is your educational background? Graduate of Patricia Stevens College in Atlanta.
Where are you originally from? Atlanta, Ga.
What do you do for fun? I love spending time with my girls or going on Saturday evening motorcycle rides with my husband and other couples from our church. Also, I enjoy anything related to animals.
Tell us about your family: I have been married for 23 years to Tim Campbell. We have three beautiful daughters: Ashley, 20, who attends the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga; Chelsey, 15, who attends Riverdale High School and MacKensey, 13, who goes to school at Central Middle. I also have two dogs: Roxy, a Pomeranian, and Bella, a poodle, and three cats: Whiskers, So-So and Cleo.
Who was your mentor? My mom and God. My mom was a single mom who raised three children, never complaining but always relying on hard work and a lot of faith to get us through. I love her greatly.
What is the most important thing going on now at your operation? We are preparing for the 2008-2009 season "Playing the Soundtrack of Your Life," which will start Nov. 3. Tickets are on sale now by calling me at the symphony office (615-898-1862) or visiting our Web site (www.murfreesborosymphony.com).
