What does your company produce? We provide indoor comfort to homeowners and businesses by evaluating their specific needs, then addressing those needs with state-of-the-art technology and our expertise to ensure satisfaction of the customer’s goals.

What is your basic business philosophy? To get and keep customers by providing quality product and unmatched service with a genuine desire to meet or exceed customer expectations. We realize that this could not be accomplished without the hard work of our dedicated employees who take pride in their skills.

What is your proudest business achievement? Having my son in the business as a partner. Jay brings a unique element to the business. His education, coupled with years of hands-on experience in the field, give him insight to deal with issues that would be impossible for someone less qualified. For me, it has fulfilled a life-long dream, but don’t get me wrong, we do have disagreements.

What led you to Murfreesboro? Actually, just a series of events led me to Murfreesboro. We ended up here by accident. My wife, Connie, and I have been married for 37 years and 35 of those have been in Murfreesboro. It has been a great place to live and raise a family, and we certainly feel very blessed to be here.

What is your educational background? I graduated high school in 1969. Attended Oklahoma Christian College and took courses in electricity and electronics at Nashville Tech. I am a 1995 graduate of Leadership Rutherford.

Where are you originally from? Born in Memphis. Raised in Arkansas and ended up in Murfreesboro where I’ve lived for 35 years.

What do you do for fun? Golf and travel

Tell us about your family: My wife, Connie, and I have been married 37 years. We have two married children. Jay and his wife Abby, who is a hair stylist, live in Murfreesboro. Our daughter, Jana, and her husband, Rob, live in Gilbert, Ariz. where she teaches first grade and he’s a pilot. No grandchildren at present. 

Who was your mentor? At 13, I started working in my uncle’s heating and cooling business. For the next seven years, I worked after school, Saturdays and during the summer. This “real job” also kept me out of the cotton field. Uncle Jerry taught me much more than a trade. I still find myself trying to pattern my life after his. He was a man of integrity, and that character trait is never out of style.
