What does your company produce? The Chamber’s mission is to promote economic development and a quality of life to benefit all residents of Rutherford County. 

What is your basic business philosophy? It may sound cliché, but I try to treat people the way I want to be treated.

Give us a sales pitch in 25 words or less: Through a variety of programs, the Chamber works to create economic vitality and enhance the quality of life in the county while supporting the growth and prosperity of Chamber-member businesses. 

What is your proudest business achievement? I graduated from the Institute for Organization Management last summer.

What led you to Murfreesboro? I was working in Nashville when one of my best friends, Jessica Luttfring, became very involved with the Chamber. She told me there was a job opening and I applied immediately.

What is your educational background? I received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee. 

Where are you originally from? Chattanooga

What do you do for fun? I love being outdoors – whether it’s exercising, gardening or playing golf. I also love to read and watch movies. 

Tell us about your family: I am married to Evan Cope. 

Who was your mentor? My grandmother, Dora Rynes Brown. 

What is the most important thing going on now at your operation?The most important thing going on at the Chamber is our Destination Rutherford initiative. The purpose of this initiative is to provide strategic leadership, direction and financial strength for the Chamber of Commerce through economic growth and balance, leadership and community development, and educational advantages. With Destination Rutherford, Rutherford County will reach its long-range goals of business growth, increased tax base, new investment and enhanced quality of life — all signs of a vibrant community with a long-term vision for growth.
