Murfreesboro Police officers take honors at state academy

Fifteen Murfreesboro Police recruits graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy Friday, Aug. 1 in Donelson.

Several of those officers graduated with honors distinguishing themselves, our Department and the City of Murfreesboro. They are as follows:

Officer Michael Martin was selected as the class president.

Officer Robert Jamison was selected as the class vice–president.

Recruits from the department also won three awards issued by the training staff at TLETA.

Officer Jonathon Brown was recognized for attaining the highest academic average for the class (97.86%).

Officer Brandon Suggs was recognized for recording the fastest time on the obstacle course (1.39 minutes).

The Outstanding Officer Award was also presented to Suggs by the Tennessee Sheriff’s Association.

Chief of Police Glenn Chrisman said “These officers are to be commended for their accomplishments and for representing our City and the Murfreesboro Police Department with excellence and professionalism.”
