Murfreesboro Police Officer Ray Roberts was decommissioned last Friday for an unspecified reason.
Police spokesman Kyle Evans said the complaint is “in the internal process right now. We’re not going to comment.”
While decommissioned, a police officer loses law enforcement powers. Roberts cannot use his police firearm, badge or uniform. He cannot perform any law enforcement duties or work any off-duty jobs related to law enforcement.
Roberts joined the department about two years ago. He previous worked as a sheriff’s deputy before joining the police department.
