The Murfreesboro Police Department will hold a R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) basic physical defense class for women beginning Oct. 4.

The four-class sessions will be held at the Murfreesboro Police Department training facility located at 324 South Church St. The classes are held from 6-9 p.m. Thursdays beginning Oct. 4.

The R.A.D. program teaches women realistic self-defense tactics and techniques to give women the tools necessary to stop an attack. Topics include: risk awareness, risk reduction, risk avoidance, and self-defense techniques.

Participants must have a parental consent form completed if under 18.

Class size is limited.
