| Every seventh- and eighth-grade student at Kittrell Elementary received a new laptop Monday, thanks to the efforts of one Murfreesboro couple.
Murfreesboro businessman Ira Brody and his wife Sara established a program called Rutherford Leap, which will provide computers to all middle school students in the county.
The $1 million program is designed to provide every seventh- and eighth-grader at Kittrell with a laptop for school use.
Kittrell was chosen as a pilot site for the program. The children received their computers at an assembly Monday in the school library.
The couple will oversee the potential expansion of the project throughout other schools in Rutherford County. |
