A local man was injured by an unknown weapon during a robbery attempt over the weekend.
Sunday, June 6, officers arrived at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center Emergency Department in reference to an assault.
When they arrived they contacted a staff member who advised officers that a subject came into the ER with severe lacerations to his left forearm.
Officers talked to Kevin Neely who said at around 1:45 a.m. he was walking to his ride outside of Campus Pub on Gunnerson Avenue when a white male grabbed his shorts where his wallet was and ordered him to give him his wallet and money.
Kevin said he then jerked away and turned around. The suspect then cut him with an unknown weapon.
The suspect was wearing blue jeans and a dark orange shirt at the time of the robbery. He had a goatee and mustache and appeared to be in his late 30s to early 40s.
He left the scene on foot heading behind the pub toward Nottingham Apartments.

Officers were dispatched to 662 Osborne Lane Saturday, June 5, at about 1:30 a.m. in response to a domestic assault.
Contact was made with Tabitha Shultz who said that her daughter, Courtney Barrett, was assaulted by her boyfriend Mario Rhodes.
The alleged assault occurred in the parking lot of Belle Aire Baptist Church on North Rutherford Boulevard. Barrett told officers she was driving to pick her mother up when Rhodes called her and asked her what she was doing.
Barrett told Rhodes that she was going to get gas. Rhodes said he was coming to see her and Barrett met him in the Belle Aire Baptist parking lot.
Rhodes allegedly took Barrett’s phone and began going through it, asking her why she was wearing what she was wearing and if she had been somewhere. Barrett said that she exited her vehicle at which point Rhodes grabbed her by the hair and slammed her face down on the pavement.
He allegedly got on top of her and began pushing her head against the asphalt before getting off of her and throwing her phone.
When Barrett left Rhodes allegedly flagged her down, returning her phone. Barrett then drove to a Shell Station on Lascassas Pike where she made contact with a police officer. The officer allowed Barrett to use his phone, observing that the area between her eyes and nose were swollen and bleeding. Warrants were issued against Rhodes for domestic assault. |
