MTSU sent out a warning about a sexual assault shortly after 4 p.m. Friday:

A female MTSU student reported to Murfreesboro Police that she was the victim of an unwanted sexual experience when a male subject she was acquainted with had sexual contact with her without her consent.

The victim advised police that the assault took place in an apartment at Campus Crossings North Apartments at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sept. 7.

Murfreesboro Police is handling the investigation. No suspect description has been provided at this time.

Everyone is reminded to be cautious even in situations with known acquaintances.
