On Wednesday, Middle Tennessee State University students will volunteer their time to gather much-needed supplies for local animal protection efforts.
MTSU student group Raiders Against Animal Cruelty will “Cram a Van” with donated supplies for local animal rescue charity Almost Home.
“Raiders Against Animal Cruelty is asking students and local residents to help us cram our van with supplies for animals who are in desperate need of our help,” stated Tiffany Galyon, RAAC member. “We’re looking forward to working together to support the community effort to bring the number of euthanized companion animals down to zero.”
When: from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7
Where: MTSU KUC Knoll
RAAC is asking students and Murfreesboro residents to drop off cat/dog food, office supplies, blankets/towels, toys, leashes, monetary donations and other supplies to support Almost Home’s rescue and adoption efforts. The group’s goal is to fill a donated van with donated goods for animals in need.
Every year, 3-4 million cats and dogs are euthanized in American shelters. The two main reasons are because people buy their pets instead of adopting animals that need a home, and the second reason being a lack of spay/neuter.
RAAC volunteers will also distribute information on low-cost spay/neuter and the benefits of adoption. |
