MTSU student art on display in City Hall's Rotunda

MTSU’s Student At Alliance (SAA) is holding a juried, competitive art show in City Hall’s first floor rotunda, 111 West Vine St., through March 25.

Jodi Hays-Gresham is the juror for the semester and the show will run through March 25. A public reception was held Feb. 17 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the rotunda at City Hall’s first floor, 111 W. Vine St.

The show, which can be seen free of charge during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays except observed holidays, continues through March 25.

Juror Hays-Gresham selected works to be included in the show as well as distinguishing a selection of works with awards. She has pursued her work and arts administration career, studying at various institutions including the Cooper Union, New York and Vermont Studio Center.  Her work has been shown at Barbara Krakow Gallery, Vermont College, Whistler House Museum of Art, the Brooks Museum and Gordon College.

Her work is included in The Drawing Center's Viewing Program, New York and she continues curatorial projects across the country.  She teaches and is the gallery curator in the art department at Tennessee State University in Nashville.

The MTSU Student Art Alliance Juried Student Art Exhibition will include a competitive student art show on display at the Murfreesboro City Hall exhibition will offer awards for the show from the proceeds of donated gift cards and certificates from local art suppliers such as Plaza Art Supply in Nashville and Jerry’s Artarama in Antioch, as well as cash awards provided by SAA.
