A local man was arrested Friday after a babysitting job turned into sexual assault.

Brandon R. Ray, 19, of Wellington Place, was arrested last week for sexual battery of an 8-year-old child.

Around Christmas, Ray was babysitting the child and “at some point, him (sic) and the child played doctor,” Murfreesboro Police Detective Tommy Roberts reported.

Ray, a student at MTSU, admitted to becoming aroused and touching the child inappropriately before exposing himself to the victim and masturbating in front of the child.

Ray’s bond was set at $8,500 and is set to appear in court May 12.
