MTSU searches for computer thief

Middle Tennessee State University Crime Stoppers is looking for help in the investigation of several computer thefts from the university’s Todd Building.

At least eight new iMac desktop computers have been stolen to this point. The thefts have been spread over time. The first theft occurred between March 19 and March 22, the most recent between July 1 and July 7.

“What makes some of these computers unique is they have a lot of graphic design software on them,” MTSU Police Department Lt. Jason Wofford said.

“Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons who have been committing these thefts,” MTSU Crime Stoppers Board Member Travis Smith said.

All callers will remain anonymous. If a callers information leads to an arrest they will be eligible for the reward.

The computers stolen have come from rooms 127, 232, 204, 348, 355C, 343, and two from room 223 in the Todd Building.
