| John Hill, a professor in MTSU’s Department of Recording Industry, brought home a Grammy last evening for “Best Engineered Album, Classical,” recognizing his work with Mark Donahue and Dirk Sobotka on Metropolis Symphony: Deus Ex Machina, produced by Michael Daugherty and performed by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra.
In addition, MTSU alumnus Clarke Schleicher (B.S. ’80), took the stage with Lady Antebellum at the Staples Center in Los Angeles to collect a Grammy for his audio-engineering work on the song “Need You Now,” voted “Record of the Year.”
Schleicher works at Warner Bros. Records and owns his own audio-engineering business in Nashville.
Josh Kear, an MTSU graduate (’96), co-wrote the award-winning song with Lady Antebellum and received two Grammys for “Best Country Song” and “Song of the Year.” |
