| Dr. Sonja Hedgepeth, professor of foreign languages at Middle Tennessee State University and co-editor of a book titled Sexual Violence against Jewish Women during the Holocaust (University Press of New England/Brandeis University Press), is currently on a book tour in New York City that will take her to the Anne Frank Center, The Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, Brooklyn Museum and the CUNY Graduate Center.
Hedgepeth will be a panel member at the Brooklyn Museum, which will be moderated by Gloria Steinem, feminist activist and co-founder of the Women’s Media Center.
The title of the discussion will be “Sexual Violence during the Holocaust and Other Genocides.”
The tour also will include a seminar at the CUNY Graduate Center that will feature co-editors Hedgepeth and Dr. Rochelle G. Saidel, as well as Nava Semel, acclaimed Israeli novelist, and Dr. Eva Fogelman, psychologist and author of one of the chapters in the book.
